Review: Wrong For You - Harloe Rae

Wrong For You Wrong For You by Harloe Rae
My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars

Wrong for you by Harloe Rae is a story about having a second chance at love when you were shattered by it the first time. Harper was once in love with Jake, only to have her world smashed to pieces when he makes the decision to be the best father he could be and that means leaving Harper with a broken heart. Fast forward to the now and we find Harper back in town, popping up everywhere Jake is and he isn’t amused and makes it known! But Jake can’t deny the spark that he feels when he is with Harper, but he may just be too late to get his second chance.

This is a beautifully written, emotional story. We have Harper who loves Jake and puts up with a lot from him. Being his daughters dance teacher, she is the nicest person ever and is truly heartbroken, not only by the decision that Jake made many years ago, but how he treats her now. She isn’t ready to be in a relationship with his straight away as he definitely needs to prove himself to her.

Jake is a cranky, alpha male, except when it comes to looking after and protecting his daughter. Everywhere he turns he sees Harper, the one he let get away, but he isn’t open to making his life more complicated, especially when he has his daughter, Syd to think about. A sweet little girl, with a heart of gold and a lot of sass! But he just can’t help how he feels about Harper, yet sometimes he treats her horribly.

This was a beautiful, sexy and emotional story about second chances. Jake and Harper deserve each other, but no one said that it was going to be easy. If you like your stories with a lot of angst, snarkiness and a happily-ever-after, then this is one for you! A great read!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

Review: Nero - S.J. Tilly

Nero Nero by S.J. Tilly
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Nero by S.J. Tilly is book one in the Alliance series. It follows the story of Peyton and Nero. Peyton has had a hard life, running away from home at an early age and just trying to get on with her life (somewhat successfully), she has an unexpected and dangerous visitor one night in her apartment. From the get-go, she is intrigued by him, but knows that he is dangerous. Little do we know how he is going to turn her life upside down!

Nero is a very alpha, masculine male who is intrigued by Peyton from the start. He knows that being with her is dangerous, but he is literally obsessed by her, her past and being his future form the beginning of the story. We can see his obsession develop throughout the story when Peyton is put in danger and how he will burn the world to get her and keep her safe.

This book was like heading down the rabbit hole, you certainly didn’t know what you were getting! But the story was amazing and kept you wanting to turn the pages to see what was happening. Peyton definitely has a vulnerability to her, but she isn’t silly or weak and you see her grow her backbone, sexuality as well as some genuine spunk throughout the story. Her past is quite tragic, as is Nero’s and be warned there could be some triggers for other readers, but this was just a great story with some really good characters.

I loved the mystery surrounding Nero, the Alliance and why it started as well as his friendship with King (I’m hoping we get a story about him soon!). Overall, a really sexy, mysterious read with a perfect book boyfriend!

Review: Zero - Ana Night

Zero Zero by Ana Night
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Zero is book 7 in the Salvation King MC series by Ana Night and focuses on Jack and Zero. Jack has just been released from prison and is trying to get back into the good graces of his MC President, King after the mistake that he has made, but it is going to be harder than he thought as things have definitely changed for him whilst he has been in prison and he isn’t the same man that he was before. Hence when his new knight in shining armour, Zero keeps popping up everywhere he goes, defending him, he doesn’t quite know what to do with it.

Zero has his own history with prison and living with what he did. But he sees something in Jack that makes him special and want to protect him, no matter how prickly Jack seems to be towards him. Zero is looking for love though and doesn’t believe that someone like Jack would look at him in anything but contempt, especially when he learns what he did to earn going to prison. But with both of these men, looks can be deceiving and they may just find salvation in each other’s arms.

This was a really well written story with lots of emotions and vulnerability going on. At the start, Jack is quite cold and harsh towards Zero, but he starts to see the man that he is every time he pops up and helps him. Sadly, Jack’s past pops up and is starting to cause a lot of issues, but with Zero and the club by his side, he is going to learn what love and loyalty are rather quickly.

A rather quick read with a beautiful happily ever after, some steamy scenes and some great characters. This is a great series to read if you want to while away a few hours!

Review: Happily Ever Never - Carrie Ann Ryan

Happily Ever Never Happily Ever Never by Carrie Ann Ryan
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Happily Ever Never is a novella by Carrie Ann Ryan and is part of the Montgomery Ink Legacy Series. The story focuses on May and Leo. May is trying to find love, but it doesn’t seem to matter what she does, she is always disappointed by the men she meets or is set up with. That is until she meets Leo who she keeps running into, mainly due to the fact that he works at the Montgomery tattoo shop, but he also intrigues her but has been warned that she is off limits.

We see their relationship develop quite quickly; with a will they/won’t they theme. But when the two are together, sparks definitely fly and there is no denying an attraction, no matter how much they don’t want one with each other. Both characters work really well together in this book and its nice to see them get their happily ever after. We also see snippets of other characters’ lives who we’ve met in previous books as well as see how Sebastian is doing after his devastating heartbreak. Overall, a great addition to the Montgomery series as a whole!
