Life has never been easy for me. I struggled in school due to a learning disorder, and it earned me a relentless amount of teasing. It took years and a few false starts, but I finally got my crap together and started bartending at Purgatory. There isn’t a night without some sort of drama, which can be distracting for everyone. But working in a biker bar is bound to come with a little chaos.

I love it! Sure, it doesn’t hurt that one of the owners is sexy as hell, but he’s my boss and off-limits. Or is he? When money goes missing, all the evidence points directly at me. Accusations fly, and I’m fully prepared to walk out, but after hearing me out, he says he believes that I’m innocent.

Before I was a patched member of Saints Purgatory MC, I was a certified public accountant. I put on a suit five days a week and worked until I was tired all the way to my bones. Life was boring and predictable, but I was good with numbers, and the salary was great. 

Then my cousin came to me with a proposition I couldn’t pass up. I quit my job, joined the MC, and became their money guy. Boring and predictable were no longer words in my vocabulary.  And that was even more true once she started working at the bar. She’s the best bartender we’ve ever had which is why I vow to prove her innocence when she’s accused of stealing cash. 

Helping her becomes my sole focus, my reason for getting up in the morning, and it doesn’t take long before I’m doing whatever it takes to keep her in my life as more than a valued employee.

Review: Whiskey Shivers: The Voodoo Bastards MC - A.J. Downey

Whiskey Shivers: The Voodoo Bastards MC by A.J. Downey

Whiskey Shivers is part of the Voodoo Bastards MC series by A.J. Downey and focuses on the characters Corliss and Hex. Corliss is a High School teacher who has had a rough upbringing, but that hasn’t stopped her being a ray of sunshine and the best she can be. She knows Hex as the custodian at school and they fast become friends, with some attraction thrown in. When something unspeakable happens to Corliss at school, Hex steps up and protects her, making sure that she knows that she’s his priority and that he’ll do anything to keep her safe!

I really enjoyed the relationship that Hex and Cor had in this story and how Cor kept her head held high, no matter what was thrown at her. It wasn’t quite as dark a read as the first book in this series, but there were still some small elements of darkness that popped up. The story is based heavily on Hex and Cor’s relationship and how it strengthens over time. Hex is a really sweet guy and we see that through the pages of the book. Yes, he’s in an MC and does some questionable things, but the one thing you can’t question is his love for Cor.

Throw in a great brotherhood, some spice and a bit of revenge and you’ve got a great story with some memorable characters. I can’t wait to read more in this series!

Review: Where We Promise - Ashley Munoz

Where We Promise is book 3 in the Stone Riders MC series by Ashley Munoz and focuses on the story of Penelope and Jameson. Penelope and Jameson meet when they are young teenagers. Jameson’s father is President of the club that both Penelope and her mum have been introduced into and are living with. There is an instant pull between the two, but  there are also obstacles and miscommunications in the way, and we see this through the back and forth of both characters which happen in the past.

In the present we see the two come together again as Penelope (pregnant with the Vice-President of the now Chaos Kings MC) residing for her own safety with the Stone Riders and with Jameson (President of the Chaos Kings MC) but residing with the Stone Riders as his MC is divided between himself and the Vice-President. To say that their journey is complicated is an understatement, and this is the premise of the story. Two people who should be together but because of outside influences, never quite meet in the middle.

Penelope is a soft-spoken woman, often making herself smaller because she feels inconsequential, she has a beautiful soul and yearns for Jameson in a way that sometimes frightens her. When Jameson suggests a marriage of convenience she jumps at the chance, knowing that along the line her heart is going to get hurt again.

Jameson is the hero of the story. A man who is trying to keep his club together, keep Penelope out of danger whilst loving her so much from afar. There are moments of gut-wrenching angst when you realise that Jameson may just be too late when it comes to his love for Penelope.  

There is so much going on in this book and so much to talk about, but I don’t want to spoil it for other readers. Angst, drama, family and pure love is what keeps the pages of this book turning. Strong women, hope and a brotherhood keeps the heart beating and two characters that love each other until the very end makes you shed a couple of tears. This story is just beautiful, and I have got to say that this series is one of the best I’ve read! Well done, Ms. Munoz!

Review: Nicky - Willow Thomas

Nicky from Willow Thomas is book one in the Fallen Gargoyles MC and boy is it a sweet and steamy read. The story focuses on Nicky, a young man who finds out that his parents have lied to him for years on who his biological father is. When he finds out, he knows that he wants to find him and decides to track him down. On his way though he has a hot one-night stand with a guy who rocks his world, but due to everything that is going on with him he leaves the next morning, thinking about the guy but not expecting to bump into him again when he meets his father and to also find out that his one night stand was his step-brother, Booker.

Booker is a tattoo artist who knows his place in the world, when he has a one-night stand who he can’t stop thinking about, he is more than surprised when he finds out that it was his stepbrother who he slept with. But Booker knows that Nicky is the one for him and he is going to show Nicky how special he is, even when some roadblocks are thrown in the way.

Overall, this was  super sweet and steamy MM book about finding out where you belong. Although there was some drama, these two characters have their tribe. It is a quick read so its fast paced with some insta-love but totally enjoyable and a good way to wile away a few hours!

Review: Luca: The Bianchi Brothers - L.M. Fox

Luca: The Bianchi Brothers by L.M. Fox

Luca by LM Fox is part of the Bianchi brother series and boy is it a good one. The story focuses on Jillian and Luca. Jillian is a single parent of 3 kids, she is strong, hard working and loves her kids and is just trying to make it through each day. Jillian meets Luca in the emergency room and there is an instant attraction between the two, but both Luca and Jillian have gone through their share of tragedy and heartbreak and although they have an attraction, they are nervous to start anything. But feelings are hard to ignore, and Luca knows that he will go to the end of the earth to protect Jillian and her children against his own family if he needs too.

Luca was a great character and really stepped up when he needed to, and Jillian is a wonderful mother. Scenes between the two characters are sweet and spicy, add into that the characters baggage of sadness, heartbreak and determination to be strong, this is a wonderful book with some wonderful characters. If this is your first foray into LM Fox’s books, it isn’t going to be the last one you pick up! Overall, a really great read!

Review: Finn - Ruby Raynes

Finn by Ruby Raynes

Finn by Ruby Raynes is book one in the Love in Ink series, and it is a wonderful M/M story. The story focuses on the relationship between Spencer and Finn. Spencer is a sweet, nerdy young man who has recently gone through a tragedy but is balancing going to college and running a business. Enter Finn, a hot, young man who has moved across the country and is being chased by ghosts. Given a chance to live the life he knows he wants, he unexpectedly gets a friend in Spencer, but things start heating up pretty quickly between the pair. The only issue is the baggage that both of them bring to the relationship.

This was a lovely story with some steamy scenes, two characters who have found their own family (and an overzealous cat) and some good times had by all. I loved the sense of family in this story and also the dialogue that Finn has with his sister (which is also heartbreaking). Spencer is sweet and spicy at the same time, and a young man who is figuring out where he belongs whilst trying to stay true to himself.

I can’t wait to read more in this series as it was just wonderful. If you like your M/M tropes with some great characters, steaminess and a huge sense of family and belonging, then this is one for you!
